This calculator uses live network data (difficulty 126.23T, hashprice ≈ $34/PH/s/day as of 2026-07-27) and real ASIC specs from our catalog of 88 machines.
How this Bitcoin mining profitability calculator works
Bitcoin mining profitability comes down to a simple balance: the dollar value of the BTC your machine earns each day, minus the electricity it burns to earn it. The revenue side is driven by hashprice, the market-wide income per petahash per second per day. Your daily revenue is your hashrate (TH/s) divided by 1,000, multiplied by the current hashprice. Hashprice itself moves with the Bitcoin price, network difficulty and transaction fees, which is why a static spreadsheet goes stale within days.
The cost side is set by your ASIC's efficiency, measured in joules per terahash (J/TH), and your electricity rate in $/kWh. Power draw (W) = hashrate × efficiency; multiply by 24 hours to get the daily energy bill. At $0.06/kWh, a modern machine at 15 J/TH spends roughly half of what a 25 J/TH unit spends to produce the same hashrate. Efficiency is the single biggest lever on mining margins.
This simulator recomputes everything against live network conditions: current difficulty, real-time BTC price, hashprice and pool fees. Instead of typing specs by hand, pick any of the 88 ASICs in our catalog, adjust your electricity cost, and stress-test the result with the BTC price and network hashrate sliders. For longer horizons, the backtest and Monte Carlo tools model difficulty growth and halving cycles over 48 months.
Live profitability examples at $0.06/kWh
Computed with the live hashprice above, at an electricity cost of $0.06/kWh:
- Antminer S19 XP (140 TH/s at 21.5 J/TH): ≈ $4.75/day revenue, $4.33/day electricity → $0.42/day profit.
- Antminer S21 (200 TH/s at 17.5 J/TH): ≈ $6.79/day revenue, $5.04/day electricity → $1.75/day profit.
- Antminer S23 Hydro (580 TH/s at 9.5 J/TH): ≈ $19.68/day revenue, $7.93/day electricity → $11.74/day profit.
Frequently asked questions
How is Bitcoin mining profitability calculated?▾
Daily profit = mining revenue − electricity cost. Revenue = your hashrate (TH/s) ÷ 1,000 × the current hashprice (≈ $34/PH/s/day currently). Electricity = power draw (kW) × 24 h × your rate ($/kWh). This calculator applies live network difficulty, BTC price and pool fees, so the estimate reflects today's market rather than static assumptions.
Is Bitcoin mining profitable in 2026?▾
Yes — with an efficient ASIC and cheap electricity. At current hashprice, machines in the 10–20 J/TH range are generally profitable below ≈ $0.08/kWh, while older hardware above 28 J/TH needs very cheap power. Enter your own electricity rate in the calculator above to get an exact daily and monthly figure.
What electricity price do I need to mine profitably?▾
Your break-even is the electricity price where revenue per kWh equals its cost: revenue per kWh = hashprice ÷ (24 × efficiency in J/TH). Rule of thumb for 2026: below $0.06/kWh most recent ASICs are comfortably profitable; between $0.06 and $0.09/kWh you need latest-generation efficiency; above $0.10/kWh mining rarely pays.
